Job Title: Surgical Tech Job Specialty: OR Tech (Operating Room) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Days, 4 - 8-hour shifts Guaranteed Hours: 32 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Not required to submit Certifications: - BLS - Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) via NBSTSA certificate and verification Must-Have: Ortho experience Job Description: - Significant increase in total joint replacements; candidates need to have orthopedic experience. - Participate in call rotation and open to considering longer contracts. - Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of patient care in the operating room, including prepping, draping, positioning, and moving patients. - Possess a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, providing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment. - Responsible for setting up and maintaining sterile fields. - Share responsibility with the registered nurse for the correct counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and sharps. - Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of medications used during surgical procedures, and accurately identify and label them. - Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of specimen handling. - Assist the surgery team with room turnover and preparation for procedures. - Knowledgeable and responsible for using the correct implants/prostheses for each procedure. - Participate in the surgical site and patient verification during the timeout procedure. - Capable of meeting the physical demands of the position. - Ability to engage in current and future training programs to learn new functions necessary for the OR to provide new and improved services.
