About the Role: Join Us as a Finance Manager! Are you a highly
skilled financial professional with a passion for accuracy, process
improvement, and leadership? Join us as a Finance Manager, where
you will oversee all accounting and financial functions while
driving internal controls, budgeting, and compliance. Your
expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the financial
health of our organization and supporting our leadership with
timely and accurate reporting.
Responsibilities:
Manage Financial Systems & Internal Controls: Oversee financial
processes, including monthly bank reconciliations, merchant
accounts, and PCI compliance reporting.
Ensure Accurate Reporting & Compliance: Perform month-end close,
prepare journal entries, reconcile subsidiary ledgers, and manage
fixed asset records.
Oversee Title IV & Financial Aid Reporting: Reconcile Title IV
expenditures, complete required Department of Education reports,
and ensure compliance with federal financial aid processes.
Prepare & Present Financial Reports: Develop monthly, quarterly,
and annual financial reports for leadership and the Board of
Directors, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Lead Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with functional areas to
develop the annual budget and prepare supporting documentation for
management and the Board.
Support Strategic Planning: Contribute financial analysis and
projections to the organization's strategic plan and work closely
with leadership to align financial goals.
Manage Investments & Tax Reporting: Oversee money market and trust
accounts, file annual corporate tax returns, and ensure 1098-T
forms are prepared and filed accurately.
Coordinate External Audits: Serve as the primary contact for
external auditors and ensure the organization complies with all
federal, state, and local regulations.
Oversee Scholarships & HR Functions: Manage the organization's
scholarship program and support HR functions such as payroll,
benefits administration, and 401k compliance.
Lead & Develop Accounting Staff: Recruit, hire, and train staff,
conduct performance evaluations, and serve as a backup for
essential functions when necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Administration (required)
8+ years of related experience
3+ years of experience in a supervisory role
1+ year of experience in fixed assets
CPA (preferred)
Strong experience with accounting and tax preparation software,
Microsoft Office Suite, and general technology applications.
Strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting, financial reporting, and
internal controls.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the
ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic
educational environment.
A strong focus on accuracy and quality while balancing multiple
priorities.
Experience in a nonprofit or educational institution is a plus.
